@stephanyauernig : Let’s talk about Cardio & my own transformation. Physically & mentally. (This is gonna be long) Back in the day, I used to think that cardio was the ONLY way to maintain weight / lose weight. Oh god how wrong I was. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed running, it was easy to step on a treadmill and just run or going to the park and run. You didn’t have to program and think about anything. Running isn’t bad, I’m not hating on that, but running excessively can lead to overtraining (chronic stress & fatigue), and eventually you stop making progress. You become slowly, more tired, and you can get sick more often, and that’s what happened to me, and just to add, I lost my menstrual cycle for many years. At one point, running 1 hour a day wasn’t working for me anymore. I felt like I needed to do more and more and more, and I just felt crushed every single day. Then I decided to educate myself more about resistance training. It wasn’t easy to do. Especially when you’re working in the modeling industry and having muscles was seen as ‘not feminine’. But, I didn’t care, I remembered how strong and energetic I was in high school, and I wanted to feel strong again instead of weak, and I wanted my hormone levels to return back to normal. That’s when I made the change. For sure I put on some mass (mainly muscle, but yes also a little fat), but I knew that’s what my body needed. I’ve never felt so healthy, strong, and powerful. Also, I have alot more time to do other stuff, rather spending 2-3 hours training. So just a reminder to everyone, that the number on the scale doesn’t matter. It’s also about how you feel, and your bio feedbacks.
